Update not working. Trojan blocking

Hi

We have a Trojan infecting my sister's machine we can't get rid of. We've installed Malwarebytes and scanned the machine in normal and safe mode. It find various infected files, but even after removal the trojan is still there.

It it is stopping us from updating Malwarebytes and also stopping us from running other spyware aps (like Spybot). Macafee doesn't pick anything up.

The trojan has infected all our browsers (IE, Google Crome and Firefox) and redirects all our searches, and inserts adverts. The PC is running Windows XP and the system keeps freezing up as well.

I think the Trojan is called something like Trojan.DNSnamechanger

Any advice would be appreciated as we are not very technical!
