Transferring to a New Laptop

How do I do it? Going from Vista to 7.

Hello and welcome to MBAM, mbianchi33:

I assume that you want to move/transfer your license/key for MBAM PRO to a new computer?

If so, it's quite easy:

• Please be sure you have your license ID and key available (sent via email at the time of online purchase, or in the box).
  
• On the OLD COMPUTER: Download and run mbam-clean.exe from HERE.
  
• It will ask to restart your computer; please allow it to do so - this is very important!
  
• Then:
  
• On the NEW COMPUTER: temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from HERE.
  
• Launch the MBAM program and set the Protection and Registration using the license ID & key.
  
• Then go to the UPDATE tab (if not done during installation) and check for updates.
  
• Restart the computer and verify that MBAM is in the task tray.
  
• Now set up any file exclusions, as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications, and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQs HERE, or ask and we'll explain how to do it.
  

(These steps are also explained in the FAQ - Section A - Item #16).

Also: If you want to use MBAM Free on the OLD computer after you uninstall MBAM PRO, simply download MBAM on the OLD computer from the same download link, but do not purchase/register it. You will not have the use of real-time protection, scheduled tasks or incremental updates features offered in MBAM PRO, but you can still update/scan manually.
