Had To ReInstall MBAM

Recommended Posts

I kept getting an error on trying to use MBAM and couldn't even use the uninstall without getting an error.

Uninstalled manually and then downloaded using my ID and Key.

It shows I have version 1.46 and it shows my ID and Key on the "About" page but does not show "Pro" at the top.

Do I have the correct version downloaded or not.

Sorry to be so dense.

Here are the errors I got while having the problems.

Mainly I just want to be sure I am on the right version.

Thanks for any input.

Please do the following - making sure you have your ID and Key available if using the Pro version before doing so as this process will remove it from the computer.

  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here
  • It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important
  • After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here
    • Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version
    • Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

I had already used my key and id but evidently it didn't work right or something.

I had just checked for updates again and it downloaded the Pro version and I then updated again to get to the correct

version numbers.

All is fine and thanks for the prompt attention.
