"Database is missing or corrupt"

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! I hope someone can help me with my problem, and sorry for my english, it may not be quite good because I'm spanish, so I ask you to be understanding with me please.

Well, my problem is that the first time I tried to run the program after installing it, I got a dialog with that message in the topic title, and then it asked me if I want to download a new copy of the database. I said yes, and after reaching 100%, the same "database is missing" message showed up again as if nothing had changed, and the program was unable to start. This happens every time I try to run it, I've tried many things like copy the database from another working program installed in a different computer, but nothing seems to work, and I don't know what else to do...

So, if there's anyone who knows how to solve my problem, I would appreciate any help, because I really need the program to fix some malware problems on my computer.

Thanks in advance ^^

Hello Otacon and welcome to the Malwarebytes forums.

This issue is more then likely caused because you are infected. You can try downloaded the cleaner program from here and restarting when prompted. You can then try running the installer to see if the cleaner fixed the issue.

If you are still having issues, here are the steps needed to get your computer cleaned....

Please read the following so that you can begin the cleaning process:

Don't use any temporary file cleaners unless requested - this can cause data loss and make recovery difficult
