MBAM PRO - Taking 18+ Hours Scanning

Recommended Posts

Help Please ! This has been going on for weeks . I always make sure to leave my laptop on scanning while I go to sleep just to feel safe and to see if I have any viruses or if I got infected. I Always have to wake up to MBAM PRO Still scanning Sometimes I just let it scan even after I wake up but it gets to 18+ hours and only has scanned 180thousand files (That's the farthest I got) This is ridiculous. I need to fully check my computer with it not taking 2 days or even a week to fully scan it . I yet have not been able to scan my whole computer . I am running on Win.7 , 2009 Toshiba , Intel® Celeron® CPU 900@ 2.20GHz 2.19GHZ , 2.00 GB RAM and a 32-bit .. This isn't good but not the worst specs either . I have a older PC with same GB and don't know what else but have A LOT more file than my laptop and the scan on that takes 1hour 30mins Max .. It does have a PRO MBAM Licence and so does this laptop and I can't even finish the scan . My computer keeps getting worse its gotten Soo much slower it freezes on me It takes 15-20mins just to boot up . It crazy I'm pretty sure I am infected and their is nothing I can do about it because I am not able to scan my computer daily . I have MBAM PRO I don't understand why this is happening its supposed to be better and faster and it is on my other computer witch again like I said its older and has more files but on this one I can't even have a successful and complete full pc scan. I really need help with this . It is now serious I am infected and can't do nothing about it I need someone to help me as soon as possible because I don't think my PC would be able to take it any longer ...

If anyone would like to help me through MSN Leave your email in your post or just PM me . Or if anyone wants to just post ways I can get this fixed on the thread that will be great . I just need any type of help * I will stay on this forum so I am active*

Thanks in advance , I really appreciate it !

Hello and welcome to the Malwarebytes forum. Thank you for choosing Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware as your malware security solution, my name is Oscar Rubio and I'll be assisting you today.

Lets collect additional information off the system to see if we can spot any issues.

Please Download OTL to your Desktop:

To Use OTL:

Step 1- Get OTL From http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/files/file/398-otl-oldtimers-list-it/

Step 2- Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.

OTL should now start. Change the following settings

Under 'File Scans' be sure the 'Use No Company-Name-Whitelist' box is ticked.

From the 'File Ages' drop down menu, please select '60 days'

Step 3- Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.

When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt (first run only). These are saved in the same location as OTL.

Step 4- Please attach these 2 files in your next reply.

OTL.Txt

Extras.Txt

Keep in mind we are not an anti-virus, but an anti-malware. We recommend using an anti-virus along with our product.

We are going to use Chameleon, is part of Malwarebytes. Chameleon will scan for active malware, disabling it , allowing you to run a scan after.

Go to "Start", All Programs,Malwarebytes' Anti-malware, Tools and select Malwarebytes Chameleon

Another window will pop up. You will see a list of programs and their status. We will start with mbam-chameleon.exe, click on "Test Now"

A prompt window will appear asking you to press any to continue.

Active Malware-could block Chameleon, so go down the list as we renamed Chameleon to mask other programs if they start to fail.

I've also included a video on how to use:

Attach the results along with your reply.
