I want to thank you for Malwarebytes, it has banished the problems I had with brower hijacks, banished Vundo, besides some other crappy trojans that were particularly vexxing. I'm careful where I surf. I have no idea where I picked up these things. I'm reading that there is more embedded malicious code on sites than ever before. I expect that things will get worse. So I am really grateful to you for this program. I also have Spyware Terminator, and System Suite 9. I don't think any one thing like SS can catch everything.

I'm glad Malwarebytes helped you get cleaned up. You are correct about the embedded malicious code. Many sites that would normally be safe are getting hacked to carry malicious software in the form of what are called "drive by" downloads, meaning just visiting the page can often infect a user's machine. Their motivation is money. They seek to steal email info and passwords for sending spam, credit card numbers and bank account info for fraud and identity theft, and even will install what are called "rogue" security programs claiming you should purchase them to clean off your computer. It's rough out there and is only getting worse. You are also correct that no one "suite" or any other software can possibly catch every infection all the time, there's just too much malicious stuff out there these days. Malicious software is a multi-million dollar industry and the thieves are highly motivated to alter their trojans and other infections frequently to try to bypass detection by security software.
