so i posted bout this bout 2 months ago and it seem to have been fixed by following advancedsetup's advice but i went away from teh computer for a half hour and its now back again.

here is the info i got

Activation context generation failed for "c:\program files\microsoft security client\MSESysprep.dll".Error in manifest or policy file "c:\program files\microsoft security client\MSESysprep.dll" on line 10. The element imaging appears as a child of element urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1^assembly which is not supported by this version of Windows.

its listed in teh application sub menu(of event viewer) and the keyword is classic (i dont recall that being a keyword before)

any idea what causes that

and it apears that the recovery partition was just finished being defragmented when the error showed up (right sidebyside error is the message that the recovery partition was defragmented).

microsoft security essentials is still working though.

its perfectly able to scan running one now..

i do recall thought that it was a .net framework that had to be updated that caused the issue im wondering if the windows updates on the 14th could have been the cause
