Update Path Question

A member of another Security Forum (who resides in the US) has posed a question about where MB updates are coming from. I've checked with various contacts in the US and it seems a bulk (if not all) updates are from a server in Amsterdam. The user in question gets a consistent update location of:

68.232.45.119- an Edgecast Networks serverfarm.

If anyone can confirm that Malwarebytes uses these servers it would be very much appreciated.

That is correct, Edgecast is part of the CDN (Content Deliver Network) which we use for updates. The actual server that the updates come from will often vary depending on your geographic location, as it routes the traffic based on the best connection speed, so if for example the connection were slow to that Edgecast server either because of issues on their end or issues with routing to that address through your ISP, it would route to a different server on the CDN.

Can you provide a list of host address that you utilize with Edgecast Networks, Inc. please?

 

We are seeing a lot of blocked Edgecast Networks addresses in our Cisco Botnet reports.  We are trying to verify that the destination address is a ligimate Malwarebytes update server.
