Hello

So far, I find Malwarebytes to be a Good Program - hopefully it will find, identify, and remove harmful malware.

Are there other programs/software designed by Malwarebytes that are helpful tools as well?

What/Who are these other programs below - are they necessary?

Avira Free Antivirus

CCleaner

SuperAntiSpyware Free Edition

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

Thank you

Mike:

The computer needs an anti virus solution and Avira AntiVir is one of the best. Malwarebytes' anti malware (MBAM) complements an anti virus solution such that between the two there is much broader and malware prevention and mitigation. MBAM is not an anti virus solution and will not replace a product like Avira AntiVir.

SuperAntiSpyware (SAS) is a parallel product to MBAM and if you practice Safe Hex, it isn't needed.

CCleaner is a utility for removing junk files (temp files) and isn't really needed but it is useful.

Thank you David :)

Unless I'm missing something, Avira looks like it might cover 'All The Bases'?

Avira Antivirus Premium Software protects you online from thousands of Viruses, Worms, Trojans, Rootkits and Spyware:

Email-Problems – Mail Protection scans and protects your emails

Identity theft – AntiPhishing secures your private data

Malicious websites – Web Protection prevents you from dubious websites

Undetected attacks – stops malware downloads while browsing

My original problem: I had to uninstall "PC Tools Spy Doctor" Versions 7 & 9. Version 9 became 'Top Heavy' for my system: 3.4ghz Pent 4 - 3 Gigs Ram - Dell Dimension 8400. And version 7 is obsolete. I need a less complicated software for my system, as PC Tools has designed and made changes according to NEWER faster systems.

Wondering if 'Avira Antivirus Premium Software' will do the job, and I'll just remove MBAM?

Thanx

Read the following...

Basically Malwarebytes (MBAM) picks up where Avira falls off and Avira picks up where MBAM falls off. Thus they symbiotically work to bring better protection than just one product or the other.
