Hello and welcome, ChromeDome:

MBAM PRO can, indeed, be configured to update definitions "automatically". :)

Please refer to the FAQ - Section O for help with the scheduler.

A typical "schedule" many of us use is HOURLY updates (with a flash scan) and DAILY Quick Scans (FULL scans are not necessary on a routine basis).

Let us know if you need additional assistance.

Thanks,

I have tried this previously to no avail. Will try again. However with the built-in protection a do a quick scan two to three times a week and a full scan once or twice a month suffice.

Thanks for your help! :)

When you say, "to no avail", what do you mean?

Do you get some sort of error message?

Are you sure you are running MBAM PRO, not MBAM Free?

Have you set the reciprocal permissions between MBAM and your AV/firewall?

However with the built-in protection a do a quick scan two to three times a week and a full scan once or twice a month suffice.

I'm just a home user, so we'd need to wait for one of the MBAM staff or other experts to weigh in.

However, since MBAM engineers update the definitions several times a day and since new malware threats are constantly emerging, I personally would not be comfortable only scanning every few days.

That's why I use hourly updates (with flash scans) and daily quick scans.

It's entirely up to you, your preferences, your risk tolerance, your level of computer security setup, and your patterns of computer use.

If you are still having trouble with the scheduler, please post back and let us know.

Cheers,

daledoc1
