sonialisa Posted February 10, 2012 ID:525522 Share Posted February 10, 2012 I tried running a quick scan on my machine earlier this week. After about 2 hours, it seemed to stop scanning. Should I have let it go longer or was it more likely "stuck" and done? I have used this previously and the scan usually took about 10 minutes maximum.*Note*, I am working with very low C drive disk space and have corrupted files that will not allow me to use disk cleanup or system restore. Could this be the slow scan issue?
Firefox Posted February 10, 2012 ID:525524 Share Posted February 10, 2012 Hello and Scan times can vary depending on how many files you have on your computer. Also since you mention you have low disk space, it can make things run really slow since there is no room for your computer to write temp files. Also you mention you have corruption. Please try the following. It should take at least 10 minutes to a couple of hours depending on the speed of your computer. You may have corrupted files on your disk. Please try running the following.First close ALL Applications as this routine will automatically restart your computer.Click on START - RUN and copy / paste the following entry into the box and click OKCMD /C ECHO Y|CHKDSK C: /R | SHUTDOWN /R /T
