Can't get into safe mode and file system check

Hi,

I noticed that my sisters laptop was slow today so I checked it out. I fixed it by disabling ituneshelper, superantispyware, Skype and secunia psi from loading at start up by using msconfig.

However, I was curious if there was a virus or not so I scanned it with malwarebytes pro and it found nothing. So I decided to dig deeper and scan it with Superantispyware during safe mode, however this where things gets weird...

I tried to go to safe mode but it would get stuck at the loading screen without moving. Since it was stuck, I waited for a few minutes to see if it'll change but nothing happened so I just unplugged the comp. When I turned it on, something called "file systems check" came up, is that normal?

Until now I still cannot go on safe mode on her laptop , could someone please tell me possible reasons why I can't boot in safe mode? I'm kinda scared cause the last time this happened I had a virus that wiped out everything.

The proble seemed to have fixed itself, I am able to go into safe mode now. Im not sure what happened exactly though, thanks for the help.

More than likely you had some corrupt files or truncated files. When the computer booted up and ran a check disk, it must have fixed the corruption...
