Known conflicts?

I use KIS 2012 and Advance System Optomiser 3.0. Can I install Malwarebytes pro and not have any conflicts or problems? Thank you

Hello and welcome to MBAM, lbiedka:

I am just a home user and am not familiar with Advanced System Optimizer.

However, MBAM PRO and KIS2012 work just fine together (despite protestations to the contrary from many folks at the KL forums).

Several of us, myself included, run this combo.

In order to optimize performance, you'll want to set the reciprocal permissions/exclusions for MBAM and KIS.

The instructions below** may not be specifically tailored to KIS2012, but the general procedure is the same.

Since you didn't mention what version of Windows you are running, I am including steps for both 32-bit and 64-bit systems.

One other thing, please be sure to PAUSE KIS protection during the install:

• Temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here.
  
• Please do NOT download MBAM from any other source.
  
• If you are using MBAM PRO, you will need to activate (register) the program using the license ID & key.
  
• Launch the MBAM program and (if you are using MBAM PRO) set the Protection and Registration.
  
• Then go to the UPDATE tab (if not done during installation) and check for updates.
  
• Restart the computer and verify that MBAM is in the task tray (if using the PRO version).
  
• Now set up any file exclusions, as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications, and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQs here, or ask and we'll explain how to do it. Use the procedure listed below.
  

**Here are the steps for exclusions:

Set Exclusions for Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware in Kaspersky Internet Security and Kaspersky Anti-Virus on 32 bit Windows Versions:

1. 
   
2. Open Kaspersky and click on Settings in the upper right-hand corner
   
3. Click on the right-most icon in the upper left to access Detected Threats and Exclusion Rules
   
4. Under Exclusions click on Settings...
   
5. In the Trusted zone window that pops up click on the Trusted applications tab
   
6. Click on the Add button and select Browse
   
7. In the browse window that opens navigate to C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
   
8. Double-click on mbam.exe and in the window that pops up, click the box next to each of the items listed in the window so that they are all checked and click on OK
   
9. Do the same for each of the following:
   
   • 
     
   • mbamgui.exe
     
   • mbamservice.exe
     

[*]Once that is complete, click on OK to close the exclusions window

[*]Click on Apply at the bottom of the Settings window then click on OK

[*]Close the Kaspersky main window

Set Exclusions for Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Kaspersky Internet Security in Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware:

• Open Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and click on the Ignore List tab
  
• Click the Add button on the lower left
  
• In the small browse window that opens, navigate to C:\Program Files and click once on Kaspersky Lab and click OK
  
• Close Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
