Hang / Not Responding after updated to version 1.6

Hello. I'm encounter hang or not responding during scan, around 4 to 6 seconds. I was thought my laptop had problem when I installed latest version of mbam until I saw the post. I've tried some ways that suggested in this forum and other website to solve the problem but unsuccessful. Is there anybody can help me?

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with the scan. Please proceed through the steps in Section L of our FAQ to see if it is helpful.

Also some things to check as well....

Are you using the latest version of Avast?

Perhaps you can try out lastest beta located HERE to see if it resolves your issue.

Make sure you have entered the right exceptions for Avast from Section K in our FAQ

If that does not resolve the problem, then please contact Malwarebytes Support and they will assist you directly with troubleshooting the problem and hopefully finding a solution.

Until Firefox returns....

The link to 1.60.1.1000 BETA no longer works, because that version is no longer in beta testing.

It is now the current, official, public release version. :)

If you would like to perform a clean update to the current version of MBAM, please follow the steps below:

  • If you are running MBAM PRO, please be sure you have your license ID and key available (sent via email at the time of online purchase, or in the box).
  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from HERE.
  • It will ask to restart your computer; please allow it to do so - this is very important!
  • After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from HERE.
  • If you are using MBAM PRO, you will need to reactivate (register) the program using the license ID & key.
  • Launch the MBAM program and (if you are using MBAM PRO) set the Protection and Registration.
  • Then go to the UPDATE tab (if not done during installation) and check for updates.
  • Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray (if using the PRO version).
  • Now set up any file exclusions, as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications, and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQs HERE, or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

ALSO, please follow Firefox's other advice in post #4 above, and let us know if this resolves your issues with MBAM freezing/hanging.
