Hello,

Would you tell me what your Windows version is, before we get too much further along.

Also, are you experiencing issues starting other programs?

Download Security Check by screen317 and save it to your Desktop: here or here

  • Run Security Check
  • Follow the onscreen instructions inside of the command window.
  • A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; close Notepad. We will need this log, too, so remember where you've saved it!

Copy and Paste the contents of Checkup.txt in your next reply.

Be very aware that this system looks like it is on "edge" of having more severe issues.

It should have IE 8 installed, as you say, but shows IE 6 which you need to sort out and fix.

Java runtime is way outdated and exposes it to security vulnerabilities.

The Firefox browser is out of date and needs updating.

Start Firefox, go to Help >> About >> and check for updates and apply. That should get the latest version.

For MBAM, get version 1.60.1.1000

Download and SAVE , then later run mbam-clean.exe from >> here <<

It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important

After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus

If you need how-to guidance, see How To Temporarily Disable Your Anti-virus, Firewall And Anti-malware Programs

Next Download & SAVE the latest beta version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from >> here <<

Extract the contents of the Zip file to your Desktop. Then run it.

Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version

Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration, if you have a license. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.

Restart the computer again and verify that Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications.

You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's >> here << or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

Re-enable the anti-virus application that you turned off before.

hi

i started mbam-clean.exe

i prompted me to reboot but behind the prompt there was error message :

vbAccelerator SGrid II Control

Run-time errror '0'

i pressed ok and then appeared another:

Maiwarebytes Anti-Malware

Run-time error '440'

Automation error

i pressed ok and then appeared another:

Maiwarebytes Anti-Malware

Run-time error '383'

'Text' property is read-only

and then there was no more errors

i rebooted and after startup i again started mbam-clean.exe

it returned no error this time and i rebooted again

tnen i set up comodo anti virus to disabled

and defense + (application execution prevention mechanism of comodo) to disabled

unpacked and started mbam-setup-1.60.1.1000.exe .

it installed with no error , updated normally the definitions

now mbam works well ,

found no mall ware in quick scan.

i am using free version of mbam so i can not check things for the pro version.

unfortunately i have no idea how to fix the problem with ie 6 / ie 8

thanks

Best regards

hi

the about box of internet explorer shows this line:

version: 8.0.6001.18702.xpsp_sp3_qfe.111025-

1623

Cipher Strenght: 128-bit

Product ID: 55.......

Update Versions:0

i fixed the problem with firefox although i use opera 11.61 portable as web browser .

also jre-6u30-windows-i586-s.exe (java update) when started does not show any window

just process stops working... i don't know how to fix this .

I suspect that the poor state of my computer is a result of some malware (program or human (me for instance))

and i hope some anti malware program to help me solve the problems.

thanks

Best regards

Let's see what a Full scan with MBAM will show, but first, make sure to do Update run.

Save and close any work documents, close any apps that you started.

Start your MBAM MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware.

Click the Settings Tab and then the General Settings sub-tab. Make sure all option lines have a checkmark.

Then click the Scanner settings sub-tab in second row of tabs. Make sure all option lines have a checkmark.

Next, Click the Update tab. Press the "Check for Updates" button.

If prompted for a Restart, do that.

When done, click the Scanner tab.

Do a FULL Scan.

When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.

Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.

The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.

Copy the MBAM scan log into a reply.
