cannot update

Hi,

I used to be able to update malwarebytes at my home up until i installed the free home astaro proxy. 3 kids old enough to use a computer, gotta keep them safe! I have added an exception for *.mbamupdates on the proxy. I can ping data-cdn.mbamupdates.com. Is there anthing else I can try!!!??? I am getting the error 407 HTTPSTATUSCODE on 3 different computers. THANKS in advance

Hello and

Until a Malwarebytes Staff person replies, you can try this:

Open Malwarebytes Program

Go to Settings Tab then Updater Settings

Enter your proxy info there and see if it helps.

Yes I have entered in the same exact proxy server in Malwarebytes that allows me to browse in Internet Explorer, or Chrome. Still not working.

Does it work if you remove the proxy info in Malwarebytes?

Nope. I get an error (0,0, Connection Refused) when trying that.

I'm not familiar with this proxy server but the error indicates you did not pass authentication to it.

mbam.exe <parameters>

• /proxy <required server> <optional port> <optional username> <optional password>: allows the user to update through a proxy server. Leave blank to remove any proxy settings previously set.
  Examples:
  
  • mbam.exe /proxy will remove the proxy settings.
    
  • mbam.exe /proxy proxy.com 80 will use proxy.com on port 80 with no credentials.
    
  • mbam.exe /proxy proxy.com 80 admin password will use proxy.com with the specified credentials.
