My laptop keeps getting a pop pup message that says This application has failed to start because bcm1xsup.dll was not found. Re installing the application may fix the problem. I keep getting this message every 10 seconds. is this a virus? i have tried lots of ways to get rid of it on the internet but i either stuck during some of the steps or they just dont seem to be working. i need a solution to this problem without having to re install windows. please help. thank you my email is peytonmotede@hotmail.com

Firefox is correct. It is the tray icon software such that you can search for WiFi networks to connect to.

Re-installation of the Broadcom software is your best bet.

What is the service tag of your Dell.

Not needed. One can choose notebook --> latitude --> D610

Direct link for WiFi XP driver

I downloaded and ran the driver David H gave me. but is there anywhere specific i need to put the files?

Just save the EXE to a convenient location where you know where it is and then execute it. Then just follow the prompts.

It will extract the files under; C:\Dell\Drivers\R151519 and then run the setup and just follow its prompts.

Anytime in the future you will find the Broadcom Wifi drivers in; C:\Dell\Drivers\R151519

BTW: I am editing this post using a Latitude D630. I have serviced 100s of Latitude "C", "D" and "E" series notebooks. I am quite familiar with the D610.

A little research found this which mirrors your problem. Different Dell model notebook, same Broadcom WiFi, same error.

It would appear my Trend Micro Real Time Scan was behind this error. Turning it off and reruning setup worked as you suggested. I've tried to verify that the update did in fact work...finally found confirmation in the Wireless Configuration Utility.

Thanks for you help

EDIT:

BTW: I see an icon on your desktop, from the provided bitmap, for "WGA Full Crack". Be aware that I and the vast majority of support personnel do NOT support crack and keygen software as that is indicative of trying to obtain licensed software without proper authority to have it. Even worse, I find a great amount of pseudo crack and keygen software that either is malware in the form of a trojan or is crack and keygen software bundled with a trojan.

My god its just error after error for me..so i closed my malwarebytes program and i got a pop up saying "An error ocured while unzipping. One or more files were not succesfully unzipped. the error code is 110. also i just read your BTW notice. what icon did you find on my desktop that is a problem? i assure you what ever it is i dont intend to do any cracking what so ever. I just downloaded a few things from other forums hoping to find a solution to my problem. And i just found the icon. that was put there a logn time ago by the computer programmer who was hired to fix my computer. i have no idea what it does. ( Wga crack.exe)

I have STRONG words for that person that I will not use in respect for the Malwarebytes team.

The person who was hired to fix your computer is unethical and may be responsible for the problems you are experiencing now.
