mbamservice.exe

Recommended Posts

I have the Pro version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, but I do not want it to run all the time. I only want to use it On Demand bc it slows down my server. I have turned off the Protection Module but mbamservice.exe is still running, using up a lot of resources. How do I stop it?

Have attached a screen shot of the Protection Tab.

If you have set the protection module not to start with Windows, then the service should be using minimal resources (very little RAM and no CPU) because it is only being used for the scheduler. If you don't use the scheduler for updates and scans, you may set MBAMService to Disabled using Services.msc.

The service is not designed to be stopped after the protection module has been enabled, even if you exit the protection module. It must be this way because it runs in kernel mode, and stopping it after it has launched may lead to system instability.
