Hello,

Does this sound good for a layered defnse? Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware resident, Comodo BOClean resident, Eset NOD32 resident, all behind a physical firewall. If behind a physical firewall, do you still need a software firewall on the system? If so, what is recommended.

Thanks,

Panagiotis

I too have a firewall that is integrated into my ISP supplied DSL modem so I choose not to run a software firewall but I am very selective about what I install on my system.

I do not run any P2P file sharing applications as they are an easy way to get infections into the system and I never permit any codec installation as they too are an easy way for the system to become infected.

I use Windows Defender updated daily from its portal and WinPatrol as additional layers of protection.

If you feel you need a software firewall then Outpost Firewall is good from what I have read.

I also have layered protection and an ISP Router Firewall, but I run Online Armor Firewall, MBAM Premium, SAS Pro. with realtime turned off, and Avast Free. This combo works great for me. :)

Hope this helps.
