How do I remove Smart Protection 2012 malware?

My computer was just infected by one of those fake antivirus programs by the name of "Smart Protection 2012". I tried running malwarebytes in safe mode as is normally effective for removing this kind of thing, but malwarebytes doesn't seem to recognize this particular program. All of the other references I have been able to find in online forums to this particular virus have been posted within the last day or so, so I'm thinking it may just be a new bug that hasn't been addressed by the malwarebytes database yet?

Please don't attach the scans / logs for these tools, use "copy/paste".

DO NOT use any TOOLS such as Combofix or HijackThis fixes without supervision.

Doing so could make your pc inoperatible and could require a full reinstall of your OS, losing all your programs and data.

Please run a new MBAM scan being sure to update before scanning.

Post the scan results

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
