Note:

The
Windows Recovery Console
will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed.

Please continue as follows:
  • Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
  • Click
    Yes
to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

  • When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

  • Please post the
    C:\ComboFix.txt
    along with a
    new HijackThis log
so we may continue cleaning the system.

No luck.

I ran all of the recommended programs but get the same error code when trying to run the newly installed malwarebytes.

I am doing everything via flashdrive because my computer will not connect to the internet. Firefox will run but IE will not.

My task bar also does not show up. There is a piece of it showing but I am unable to click and enlarge it or do anything with it at all. If I run in safe moe I am able to click on IE then the task bar will show on thge bottom of the screen where it should.

Am I completely out of options here?

STEP 1

Please uninstall LimeWire and BitCometLite

File sharing involves using technology that allows internet users to share files that are housed on their individual computers. Peer-to-peer (P2P) applications, such as those used to share music files, are some of the most common forms of file-sharing technology. However, P2P applications introduce security risks that may put your information or your computer in jeopardy.

I have followed your steps once again but I had to modify them a bit.

Since I was unable to click and drag, I saved your file to the desktop then chose "Open With..." and clicked Combofix.

Combofix ran and restarted the computer after that so I went ahead with malwarebytes.

Unfortunately I received the same error of "Failed to load control 'vbalGrid' from vbalsgrid6.ocx"

Installed but still same error from Malwarebytes

I would just like to thank you again for responding so promptly and thank you for helping so much and being patient with me through all this. It does mean a lot to me to have support along the way but what else can we do? I feel whatever is infecting the computer has completely taken over.

If you're unable to do this on your PC see if you can do it on a friends PC or a work PC and then use it on your infected PC please.

Please download this, place a blank CD in your burner and double-click on the downloaded file. It will automatically burn the CD for you.

At the bottom left should be 2 flags. If you use your mouse and click on the British flag the interface should switch to English for you.

Have it scan ALL files. There is no way that I'm aware of to save a log, so you may need to write down any special errors or infections found and their outcome.

Requires access to a working computer with a CD/DVD burner to create a bootable CD.

    Avira AntiVir Rescue System
Avira AntiVir Rescue System is a Linux-based application that allows accessing computers that cannot be booted anymore. Thus it is possible to:

  • repair a damaged system,
  • rescue data,

  • scan the system for virus infections.

Just double-click on the rescue system package to burn it to a CD/DVD. You can then use this CD/DVD to boot your computer.
The Avira AntiVir Rescue System is updated several times a day so that the most recent security updates are always available.

Rescue CD screen resolution problem

Please see the post here if you're unable to view the entire screen of Avira.

Also,
DO NOT
click the mouse or launch any other applications while this is running or it may stall the program

Additional links to download the tool:

Note:

The
Windows Recovery Console
will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode.

I'm having trouble figuring out how exactly to put the actual program onto the desktop and run it without it being a shortcut.

I am forced to put the program on with a usb and I tried a CD with no internet.

Unable to copy and paste or click and drag.

I tried to "move file" from the cd to the desktop but once i click move nothing happens.
