Hello and welcome, aswath:

Please see the Possible Updating Issues topic pinned to this forum.

The steps described there for a clean reinstall -- if followed carefully and exactly -- have resolved most issues for most users, especially those NOT using ZoneAlarm Free and those who are not already infected.

Please let us know how it works for you.

Thanks!

It looks like you have Kaspersky Internet Security installed on your computer. We need to make sure that you have your exclusions set properly. Please click here for directions in how to set up exclusions for Kaspersky. Make sure to include:

  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe
  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe

If you are using a x64 version of an operating system, the extension will be Program Files(x86)

That image shows your Exclusion rules. MBAM's executables need to be added to your Trusted applications (the tab on the right) and you need to check all of the boxes for each one you add (there should be 4 or 5 of them).

ok i could just show one tab that is exclusions but its in trusted as well i followed the instructions perfect

You might be having a problem with the Kaspersky firewall blocking the updating server. Please follow the instructions below.

1. open the main application window

2. in the right upper corner of the main application window, click the Settings link

3. in the left part of the Settings window, select Web Anti-Virus

4. in the right part of the Settings window in the Security level section, click the Settings button

5. in the Web Anti-Virus window, go to the Trusted URLs tab

6. make sure that the option Do not scan HTTP traffic from trusted URLs is enabled (the box Do not scan HTTP traffic from trusted URLs is checked)

7. click the Add button

8. in the Address mask (URL) window, enter the address *.mbamupdates.com and click the OK button

9. in the Web Anti-Virus window, click the OK button

10. click the OK button in the Settings window

11. close the main application window.
