Logitech "Performance Mouse" rechargeable battery life

Question; while my Logitech wireless K800 keyboard batteries last a month or more between charging cycles, my Logitech wireless "Performance Mouse" battery only lasts two, maybe three, days. Anyone else (sho-dan) have the same (or better) experience with the same product??

Thanks,

Steve

My Logitec cordless mouse, 1-1/2 years old, uses two double A's and has lasted on average 6-7 months between replacements. I never turn it off either. Battery life is 10x greater than it used to be and i see some that claim up to two years battery life. I hate those rechargable ones cause i ran into the same nonsense about not fully charging after a while and threw the whole mess out

Yeah.. seems to be common that regular batteries last longer than rechargeable. My wife's computer mouse, a wireless V220 goes about 5-6 months between a set of AA batteries.. <_<

Oh well.. I had a wireless MX700 rechargeable that sat in a cradle when not being used. Until I wore the left-click button out that was one sweet mouse.. And it was always charged. :)

Are you snowed in yet Wayne.. we had a dry 29°F this AM (in Florida!)

The guestimaters are saying we have a nasty couple weeks coming and possible snow here Steve. Our temps today were hovering around +38 F and will be about +27F overnight the next week or so. Colder than usual, assuming there really is a "usual" ;)

I am at higher elevation and temps here are several degrees colder than near the ocean a few miles away.

In my case the desktop has lived in the closet for a couple tears and i use only a laptop while in my recliner (yeah it's a tough life :P ) and a corded mouse is a huge pain. I never even liked corded models on my desktops, the cord always seemed to interfere at some point.

Last week i was troubleshooting a family member's laptop and wished i had brought my own mouse! Like me she dislikes touch pads and was using an old Micro$ mouse with a cord so stiff it drove me crazy  I told her that having a $ 1400.00 laptop (Qosmio) and a $10.00 mouse was, well, never mind.........

I carry my own cordless mouse with me when I go do repairs....

I do as well. A Logitech M305.

My notebook has BlueTooth but I couldn't find a generic COTS BlueTooth Mouse (or at least one that didn't have its own BlueTooth antenna/chip-set).

Ah, I understand the need for wireless for laptops. I've been on a desktop so long I tend to neglect laptops...

What's the model of the wireless mouse shy?

Thanks.

Hi Grant,

I think that this Logitech mouse is unlike most. It has no model #.. Rather it's called just that, "Logitech Wireless Performance Mouse MX for PC and Mac". I prefer a wireless keyboard as well as mouse as I hate the darned usb cables catching on stuff when using the wired models.

My hand had gotten so used to the touch and feel of my previous MX700 which was no longer made (I wore out the left click button) and this was as close as I could come to it at the time.

Plus.. a BIG PLUS.. Even tho' it's optical, it works on any surface from plain clear glass thru regular mouse pad. :)

Is this what you are seeing?

"The MX Revolution would stop discharging when you stopped using it. Leave it on the table overnight, and its charge level will be the same tomorrow. This only sometimes works with the Performance MX. If you leave the Performance MX lying around without manually turning it off or plugging it in, though, and your battery level might be "Low" or "Critical" the next day. Or it might not be. It's inconsistent."

Nope; I manually turn my keyboard and mouse off every night. I do wish it had been that simple..

I think the biggest problem is the rechargeable battery on the mouse is a single cell 1.2V and only 1.9 mAh.. And I use it quite a bit.

I have the same mouse Steve but no rechargable battery, never have turned it off this past 14 months or so and am on my second set of batteries :P

I dunno Wayne; your's can't be the same one as my hot-link above. Mine (the 'Darkfield' laser type) only has room for ONE battery.. and it has to be a 1.2V, 2000mAh (AA HR3-UTG) ni-Mh rechargeable..

Set NoScript to allow "sellpoint.net" and take a better look at this interactive link; http://syndicate.sel...=1&vsr_sku=null

Now I *can* leave the USB "charging" cord attached (looks like a normal corded mouse then) and use it and the battery is always charged.

It uses the 7-device UNIFYING wireless receiver - My K800 wireless keyboard uses the same UNIFYING receiver (and the keys light up as my hand nears the keyboard which is cool. ;) )

Not the exact model for sure but physically mine looks the same without the lights above the thumb rest. I'm guessing the only difference is the battery set up. Haven't tried mine on glass but it works on various surfaces, usb micro plug also. I have liked it better than any mouse i ever owned.
