Malwarebytes Pro trial version not working (possibly)

I was on a friend's comp and I suggested that he tries out Malwarebytes Pro 1.6, which he did. However, when I took a look at his malwarebytes the "enable protection" module, as seen on the full version, is replaced by "start trial" insead of the usual options to enable protection module.

Nonetheless, he does get warnings that he only has 3 days or so left until the trial ends and when I try to click on "start trial" it says that it does not work in that "the trial version for your product is not available." I'm not sure if this is a bug or if he downloaded the wrong version of malwarebytes but as far as I know he does have the latest 1.6 version.

Nevertheless, I'm not really sure if his trial is really working properly to protect him or not ... any help to clear this up would be much appreciated.

Yes, but I don't know if the trial version of malwarebytes pro is actually working for him. Because when I tried it, I was able to see the "enable protection module" but while looking at his all I see is "start trial".

I almost wanna visit a site that I know malwarebytes blocks just to see if it's really working. But I don't think I will lol
