So I just recently had to fix a machine and Malwarebytes, which is usually one of my go to programs, would not run. I kept getting a runtime error 50003.

Everywhere on the net everyone just recommends installing VB6 common controls. This did nothing for my problem.

I randomly came across an old list of common vb files and started checking them out.

It turns out ASYCFILT.DLL was one size in windows\system32 and another size in windows\system32\dllcache

I copied the newer one over to the older one. Problem fixed!

So to help anyone else avoid a week of looking for this stuff, here is (an admittedly old) list of files to check for duplicates of. Good luck!
