Bugged Trial version

Recommended Posts

So I've been using the trial version of mbam until I have the spare cash to pay for the full, and it expired today.

Weird thing is, I suddenly have the trial again. Sort of. It seems as though every other time I open mbam I still have access to things like the flash scan and protection module...which I shouldnt anymore.

Anyway, I don't know if this is a problem on my end or what, but it seemed like it was worth reporting...

Keep up the good work guys. :]

Greetings :)

We did reset the trial once we released version 1.60 recently, so that's likely why you got the trial back. The fact that sometimes the features work and sometimes they don't indicates that something didn't go right with the trial reset on your system though. Please do the following, and it should behave more consistently (if you'd like to continue to use the trial, simply start the trial when prompted after installing 1.60 fresh and it should provide you the time remaining for the new 14 day trial for 1.60):

  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here
  • It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important
  • After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here
    • Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version
    • Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.
