Malwarebytes still won't let me connect to network

Recommended Posts

All of a sudden, Malwarebytes started popping a balloon in the lower right hand corner of the screen that said the following:

"Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

Successfully blocked access to a potentially malicious website: 213.109.67.166 Type Outgoing"

It also flip flops the message every few seconds using two different IP addresses: 213.109.67.166 and 213.109.73.41

Both of them appear to be Russian DNS servers.

My solution was to reformat the hard drive and do a new install of Windows XP SP2. I brought the system up, created an internet connection, installed Malwarebytes, Avast and AVG. Then I started to get the balloons again warning me about the same IP addresses -- on a fresh install.

Ideas?

Thanks.

Venskj,

I would also check your router to see if it is hijacked as that may be reason you are getting these IP blocks even after you reformatted your hard drive. The range of IP addresses that you mentioned are notorious for hijacked DNS on routers that have default username and password.
