After updating Malwarebytes this morning, the program does not want to load anymore on my Windows 7 desktop (64 bit).

I deleted Malwarebytes en reinstalled it, but that does not solve the problem.

I am using AVAST. The database was updated today. It does not help when I disable the AVAST modules. My computer was scanned last week with three different programs (also Malwarebytes) and it is clean. What is causing this problem?

Hello Marloes: :welcome:

Please do a MBAM clean re-install by doing the following:

  • Download and run the latest mbam-clean.exe.
  • Restart your computer, please allow it to do so - VERY IMPORTANT!
  • Disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here.
  • Reactivate the PRO version of the program using the license within the boxed version or was sent via email.
  • Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
  • Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the PRO version.
  • Setup any process/folder/file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

Please let us know how it goes. :)
