McAee Total Protection 2012 conflict

I've just updated my McAfee anti-virus protection and it required Malware Bytes to be uninstalled before completing the update. I have the pro-version of Malware Bytes and I really want to use it even though McAfee is running. Is there a solution?

If you have re-installed Malwarebytes, did you place the necessary exclusions in Malwarebytes for McAfee and exclusions within McAfee for Malwarebytes? The exclusions are necessary so both programs can run concurrently without conflict.

No, not yet. I wanted to find out first if they two would run together. I'll re-install Malwarebytes and list it as an exclusion with McAfee.
