Subscript error on v1.33

Recommended Posts

Using the latest version--1.33-- and performing a full scan after updating causes MBAM to fault on a subscript error. I have noticed the following on this:

Reboots and reinstalls of MBAM does resolve the issue.

The error appears when memory is being scanned.

It appears that the cause of this is a virus-generated random dll file in windows\system32 that hooks into explorer.exe and lsass.exe.

After manually deleting this file and nuking the reg entries associated with it, MBAM completes the full scan without errors.

Hope this helpful to someone...

Do you have a sample of the malware that caused this?

No, sorry, but I'll remember to get it next time. And the line from my first post that reads "Reboots and reinstalls of MBAM does resolve the issue" should read

"Reboots and reinstalls of MBAM does NOT resolve the issue."
