Last week I updated the software to 1.60.0.1800 on two computers, one running XP Professional and the other Windows 7 Premium, installs went fine and both versions are functioning. The difference that I've since noticed is that the database version on the Windows 7 PC has been updating over the last week and the XP machine tells me that I have the lastest database version (v2011.12.28.03) when I check for updates. Have no idea why this is happening, I've cleaned, removed and reinstalled on the XP PC but still get the same result which is no update available?

Please do the following and let me know if it continues to have an issue updating or not.

Don't just uninstall the program, please use the mbam-clean tool.

  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here
  • It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important
  • After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here
    • Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version
    • Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

Attaching print screens of database version stuck on v2011.12.28.3

Something is wrong with 1.60.0.1800 updater on Windows XP, I loaded on another XP machine and have the same problem but not seeing it on Windows 7. Decided to clean/uninstall and load previous version 1.51.2.1300 on the XP PC's and all worked fine.

Need some help??
