Thank you very much for the MBAM service !

Only problem for this old PC is that enabling the protection module seems to slow down the 4yr old Dell D830 laptop considerably.

Using the same amount of memory (about 90,000k), but operations seem to be causing unusual delays in commands/operations.

Have tried disabling and enabling a few different times with same result/s.

But, again, thanks for the basic service.

Hello akm,

This issue will most likely be resolved by adding Malwarebytes to the exclusion list of your anti-virus software. Please add the files below:

  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe

  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe

  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe

  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll

  • C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll

  • C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys

For further assistance doing this, and for specific instructions for each operating system, go ahead and go to this post , section H, and follow the basic procedures to fix freezing. Ignore that the post says AVG, these instructions are usually universal for whatever anti-virus that you may have.

If you are using NIS 2010 or Norton 360, there is a problem in the AddOn Pack which is blocking Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from updating. Workaround provided by Norton:

- update NIS 2010 or Norton 360

- disable Privacy Control and Parental Control in AddOn Pack

- update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

If you are using VIPRE PREMIUM:

- open VIPRE

- click Web Filter Settings

- click Allowed Web Sites

- add "data-cdn.mbamupdates.com" (without the quotes)

- click OK

- close VIPRE

- update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

If you have issues following the instructions, please reply with the specific anti-virus that you are using and I will write specific instructions for your anti-virus.

Thank you for the reply and info.

It may have something to do with the firewall, Online Armor.

Currently am in discussion with them about upgrading and losing information in the process... http://support.emsisoft.com/topic/6892-upgraded-and-all-domains-list-gone/

Will work with your suggestions asap.

Thanks again for your help !
