A few weeks ago, my computer was infected with the Vista 2012 Security Center program. I did a few system restores, but it kept happening. Then I downloaded Malwarebytes and it appeared to remove it. Then last night I had to update Malwarebytes and did so successfully. Then this morning I woke up and for some reason, Vista 2012 Security Center was back. It kept me from using any programs and I couldn't use Malwarebytes. I thought Malwarebytes was supposed to remove and protect against this. Why did it fail?

So I had to do another system restore. That seemed to remove Vista 2012 Security Center, but then Malwarebytes stopped working. I keep getting this runtime 3 error. I plan on reinstalling it, but if I do so will I have to pay again? I still have my id and registration info from the first time I purchased the software. Will I have to do it again? I really can't afford spending money on something like this, especially when it failed to remove Vista 2012 Security Center. What can I do? How do I fix my system? Any help would be deeply appreciated.

You don't have to pay again, your license is good for life, just make sure you keep a copy in a safe place, you would just have to enter the info again if you re-install.

If you have the latest version of MBAM, go to your start menu > Programs > Malwarebytes Anti-malware > Tools > Chameleon > there's 12 renamed files to run MBAM. Click Test Now on any one and it will start the process to block any malware > update itself and run.

If one doesn't work, try another file.

Let me know, MrC
