Hello,

Today I updated Malwarebytes 1.51.1.1800 and it downloaded an update of approximately 5.18 megabytes.

Then it said that "The database was successfully updated from version 8390 to version 912010206."

I don't tend to do updates on a weekly basis, but I would be surprised if there were over nine hundred million updates done in the last couple of weeks leading up to the New Year.

My concern is wether this is a legitimate update or some sort of virus/bug/hack-attempt.

For the time being I have disabled Malwarebytes on my computer as a precautionary measure until this can be confirmed.

Reply appreciated,

Acer

Thanks for that David.

I was not aware of the new database numbering format.

Also, thank you for pointing out that Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.60 has been released.

I had considered updating/upgrading to it, but after reading in the forums about the problems associated with it I have decided to stick with using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.51 until they have been rectified.

Thanks again,

Acer
