Win 7 Security 2012

Hello,

I am on my grandmas computer (Windows 7) and it has the "Win 7 Security 2012" malware. I've done some research on how to remove it, and found that malwarebytes would be the best way to do so. But I'm having problems. I'll refer to "Win 7 security 2012" from now on as "the program," just to make things easier to type.

First off, the program started right when the computer started, and it would not let me access the web in any way. When I opened chrome, firefox, or IE, all of them were blocked, asking me to install "Win 7 Security 2012."

I tried some things and I found out that the process gqm.exe (or something close to that, I forgot the exact name, and I dont want to open it again right now) is what starts or causes the program to run. If I end that process, Win 7 Security 2012 will close and I could access the internet. The process would pop up a few times again, but if I ended it quick enough, I could stay on the internet.

So, I looked for solutions, and downloaded malwarebytes because it looked like that would be the best solution. However, when I try to open "mbam-setup-1.60.0.1800.exe", the computer asks me if I want to run it (the typical security message), and when I OK it, gqm.exe will show up in the processes again. The program will run, and the installer for malwarebytes never opens. I even ran windows in safe mode and tried to run the installer. Gqm.exe still ran and the installer never did.

I then downloaded DDS and ran it. When I started it, gqm.exe ran, and I just let it do its thing while DDS made its logs. The logs are posted.

So yeah, all I need to do at the moment is get malwarebytes to install. Any help would be much appreciated. And sorry for any grammar mistakes or if any part of my message isn't clear.

Next, please run a free online scan with the ESET Online Scanner

3. When asked, allow the ActiveX control to install
