This problem began with last MBAM program update.

- XP professional SP3

- MBAM (pro) 1.60.0.1800

- AVG (free) 2012.0.1901

- ZA free 10.1.065.000

MBAM freezes XP if ZA is active and MBAM protection mode is enabled. Must power off or reset PC to reboot.

This was not a problem with MBAM 1.51.1.1800.

I am currently running with MBAM protection disabled.
