I use Windows XP SP 3 and Symantec Endpoint Protection AV ver 11.0.

i aslo use IE v.8 and latest Firefox

I just downloaded the newest ver of Malware. It will not open and I get an error msg that it has to close down. Then I get an Error Signature msg as follows:

AppName mbam.exe

AppVer 1.60.0.59

Mod Name: mbamcore.dll

ModVer 1.60.0.52

Offset: 00060ae0

I disabled AV and still will not open with the same msg.

Please do the following to see if it resolves the issue: Post back and let us know please

  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here
  • It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important
  • After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here

    • Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version
    • Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

This worked !! Ran twice and each time was perfect. I think that an older version(s) was left in the program file during the download. I assumed the new version would delete any older version(s). The new and older version probably conflicted with the new one. I did a program delete which was successful but did not completely remove the previous version(s). these instructions cleaned everything out....Thanks
