I used MBAM while in safe mode (quick scan), found and deleted one virus. Rebooted back into safe mode, then ran Glary Utilities (just to see what it found). It found lots of temp files which I deleted. Rebooted back into safe mode and re-ran MBAM, with a complete scan. It found more stuff, which I deleted. Rebooted to normal mode, now can't open various programs, shortcuts don't work, etc.Googled my problem, found your forum, and now understand that the deleted temp files were important. What can I do? I used MBAM to delete viruses, and then followed up with Glary Utilities and deleted massive numbers of temp files, believing that all temp files are bad files. Then I found this forum, including the instruction to NOT delete temp files. Now, the sick computer can't open programs. I can open files (which opens the program), such as Word, Excel, etc. But I've apparently deleted the linkage that allows the programs to be opened directly. The sick computer is offline, because I have no anti-virus software running. I'm going back and forth between two computers with a thumb drive, not wanting to make the sick computer any sicker. I'm convinced the viruses aren't gone.Anything you can do to help me will be much appreciated. A young man at a computer store suggested to me that I may have to reinstall Windows.
