First, thankyou Malware Bytes for providing the best anti-virus software around....

So:

I was stupid enough to download a zip file from a fake American Airlines email (the email pretends to be a ticket confirmation message.)

Luckily, I did not click on the payload, therefore (I think) I did not unpack the virus or execute it.

I have two quick questions that I was hoping someone might be able to help me with....

1) I deleted the downloaded file... Is my computer still infected, even though I didn't click on the file?

2) Is the "Ticket.zip" virus (the one attached to the fake email) included in the latest MalwareBytes update??? Can I erase any potential remnants by running Malware Bytes??

It is great to hear that.As we don't work on Malware Removal in this part of the forums. You can give your Machine a health check by following the instructions here :

http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showforum=7

or run a FULL scan with the latest updates of your MBAM while waiting for an expert to look at your logs.

Regards,
