Unable to install software

I'm trying to install itunes but when i do it says that apple application support is needed. I went to their support forums and i read one that told me to open the itunes set-up file with winrar and then when its open i would see the appleapplicationsupport.msi once i did that i opened the file and tried to install it but everytime i do i get a message that says: an error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRTtype="win32",version="8.o.50727.6195",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="x86". Please refer to Help and Support for more information: HRESULT: 0x8007054F.

I've never had this kind of situation so I'm really lost on what to do.

You may need to manually install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package.

I tried it but it gave me an error again saying:
