SVChost infected, Error code 5... aggravated

Recommended Posts

I have been getting constant popups from MB about blocking IP addresses, ports, outgoing from SVCHOST. Each time I run a scan it picks up a trojan in svchost and it "says" it was successfully removed, asks me to restart, I restart, run the scan again, it's still there, same infection in svc host. I still keep getting constant popups for the IP addresses (constant = every 5 seconds). I've tried blocking the IP address in windows firewall, nothing changes. I look at the MB log and this is what I find:

Protection Log:

08:43:02 EMOS DETECTION C:\Windows\svchost.exe Trojan.Agent DENY

08:43:03 EMOS ERROR Quarantine failed: DeleteFile failed with error code 5

(Error code 5 is windows error code for access denied... it is trying to access svchost after all, I cannot find a way around this)

Mbam Log: (i've done the scan repeatedly, the success is a lie!)

Files Infected:

c:\Windows\svchost.exe (Trojan.Agent) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

c:\Windows\Temp\oiu0.4673571921216252.exe (Exploit.Drop.7) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.\

I need some suggestions, I've tried running the scan in safe mode with no luck.

If you think you are infected, here are the steps needed to get your computer cleaned....

Don't use any temporary file cleaners unless requested - this can cause data loss and make recovery difficult

Please read the following so that you can begin the cleaning process:

You have 3 Options that you can choose from as listed below:

  • Option 1 —— Free Expert advice in the Malware Removal Forum
  • Option 2 —— Paying customer -- Contact Support via email
  • Option 3 —— Premium, Fee-Based Support

As we don't deal with malware removal in the
General Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Forum
, you need to start a topic in the
Malware Removal forum
so a qualified helper can help you fix any malware related problems/infections you may have.

  • Please read and follow the

  • After posting your new post, make sure under

    Track this topic
    and choose
    Immediate Email Notification
    , so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post.

  • One of the
    there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available.

  • Please refrain from making any further changes to your computer such as (Install/Uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc...) unless advised by a malware removal helper. Doing so can result in system changes which may hinder the attempts by a helper to clean your machine.

Please DO NOT post back to (bump) your topic within the first 48 hours.

Replying to your own posts changes the post count and helpers are looking for topics with zero replies. If you reply to your own post helpers may think that you're already being helped and thus overlook your post.
    • If there is no reply from any experts after 48 hours, you can reply to the topic, asking for help again.

    • You may send a Private Message to a Moderator asking for assistance.
