I've managed to banish some inffections that caused some issues. And have finally got everything working great again. No problems ,except one. My cd/dvd drive is not recognized in my computer. Upon reboot the drive is noticed and i get add HW wizard, but it will not load drivers. cant seem to find just the driver files for the drive, a Liteon SHW-160P6s model.

It shows up in device manager with a warning exclamation. I have unintalled from there and rebooted. bios run through see it, windows sees it,well sorta,as ive mentioned. ideas?

Again, ive scanned several times, got all the garbage out, and performance and consistent behavior of my machine seems to back this conclusion up. Just cant figure out the cd drive issue.

Ive found an .exe file for the driver files at softpedia but that wont work when I run it,says no optical drive detected.

"I've managed to banish some infections that caused some issues ..."

"Again, ive scanned several times, got all the garbage out ..."

just a suggestion ... maybe the machine is not completely clean ?

you might want to try starting a thread in the malware removal section here (the HJT section) .

here is where to start :
