Win XP machine - infected

Recommended Posts

I have a Windows XP machine which was a bit neglected (lot of software installed/fragmentation), and i believe it picked up some infection.

The reason for believing that is that one IRC server kicked me out after scanning certain ports on my machine, then warning me of the infection, and the start page of my other

two browsers has been changed to www.poony.info without my knowledge, besides that the computer behaves generally slower, and i have to click "repair connection" every time i boot it up to connect to the internet.

What I have done is:

- first a quick scan with MBAM, and it found an infected file, but nothing in the registry (log attached)

- scan with "dds.scr" as instructed on the forum.

I attach with this post files attach.txt and dds.txt as instructed.

Please help me find if there is any infection on this computer, and if, how to remove it. It would be more than greatly appreciated.
