Trojan.FakeAlert Infection

Hi there,

My computer was infected with a virus which, after running Malwarebytes, showed this in the log:

c:\programdata\anrkntfwha.exe (Trojan.FakeAlert) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

c:\programdata\qcvf2hiz9oova7.exe (Trojan.FakeAlert) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

c:\Users\Randy\AppData\Local\Temp\googleupdate.exe (Trojan.FakeAlert) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

c:\Users\Randy\AppData\Local\Temp\pngjv75oalzph2.exe.tmp (Trojan.FakeAlert) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

c:\Users\Randy\AppData\Local\Temp\CF24.tmp (Trojan.FakeAlert) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

After restarting my computer, my desktop went completely blank and I lost accessibility to a majority of my files.

In reading several other posts regarding this type of infection, it seems as though this is a common issue associated with it, so I write in hopes you can assist me on what steps I should take next.

In the future, please post all logs directly into your reply instead of attaching them unless otherwise indicated. With that said, please update MBAM, run a Quick Scan, and post its log.

Next, run DDS again and post DDS.txt directly in your reply.
