When I try to download Malwarebytes Linux version I get an Archive Manager box popup with the following message:

a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the

zipinfo: cannot find zipfile directory in one of /tmp/avg_isct_stb_all_2012_1873_free.exe or

/tmp/avg_isct_stb_all_2012_1873_free.exe.zip, and cannot find /tmp/avg_isct_stb_all_2012_1873_free.exe.ZIP, period.

Is there a simple way to overcome this? I am a novice.

There is no Malwarebytes version for Linux at this time. Currently Malwarebytes Anti-Malware only works with Windows.

Since there is no 'nix versions of MBAM, where are you downloading this software ?

From what you posted you were attempting to download AVG antivirus and not malwarebytes.

And the windows version of avg also, which would not work on Linux.
