XP Antivirus 2012 Virus - Can'ts dowload / run DDS

Hi,

I seem to have become infected with whatever the virus is that masquarades as XP Antivurus 2012 and claims a bunch of false viruses are present. Unfortunately I can't figure out what to do with it. The process allows me to run neither MalwareBytes or Avira so I'm kind of stuck. I'm attempting to start all over and follow the directions from scratch but I can't even figure out how to download / run DDS as the virus seems to be blocking it. Can anyone offer any suggestions? I have to other windows machines on the home network (which is to just to say behind the same router) which aren't infected. Would it be safe to try to transfer the DDS program over the windows network? In doing so would I be risking transmitting the virus to the other computers? Thanks in advance.
