My netbook was working flawlessly until I extracted files off my External HD. It was a Seagate 1TB drive. Now I believe there's a virus runnning freely on my Laptop.

The first thing I encountered was a Win 7 Antivirus scam program. I used Malwarebytes and removed it, I believe. But there's still something in here. When using Firefox browser, it occasionally opens a second window with 15 tabs to random websites. Half of them with Error 404 codes. Occasionally it will open a tab on my window to a spam site as well.

My netbook has been occasionally crashing VERY frequently.

What do I do?

Also, I downloaded Malwarebytes Anti-Malware AFTER the virus attacked my computer. I had a previous version and for some reason would not launch, even after I ran as administrator.

Might need additional guidance. I had extracted files on this netbook, and a laptop. I'm afraid the laptop might be infected too.

Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes.

Keep your external plugged in so we can clean that too.

Please update MBAM, run a Quick Scan, and post its log.

Next, download DDS by sUBs and save it to your Desktop.

Double-click on the DDS icon and let the scan run. When it has run two logs will be produced, please post only DDS.txt directly into your reply.
