I've been a long time user and supporter of this software and run the Pro version on our two computers. (Win XP SP3)

Lately, I've noticed that after a reboot, even though I have all protections checked and set to start with Windows, that unless I uncheck and recheck the "website blocking" feature, it will allow the browser to connect with the blocked site. (I use the MBAM test IP as well as a known blocked site for the test.)

When I uncheck and recheck the blocking feature, it works as it should.

Any idea as to why this is happening even though all the modules are checked in the tray?

My other security apps are listed below my signature.

Please do the following:

  • Download and run mbam-clean.exe from here
  • It will ask to restart your computer, please allow it to do so very important
  • After the computer restarts, temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here

    • Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent via email if using the Pro version
    • Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray if using the Pro version. Now setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications. You may use the guides posted in the FAQ's here or ask and we'll explain how to do it.

Interestingly enough, the program is back to working normally (without a new clean installation) following the removal of KeyScrambler Pro from my computer.

(I had decided that it was a layer of protection I didn't really need to rely on with the security afforded via OA, Sandboxie and MBAM.)

For whatever reason, that did the trick.

  • 3 months later...

I have the exact same "Website Blocking" problemo. A random Malwarebytes IP Block Test exposes the vulnerability,

despite the "Website Blocking" feature being checked in the tray. However, if I uncheck and recheck it, and then bring up

the Malwarebytes IP Block Test, voila!, now it's blocked. Have tried several mbam-clean/reinstalls to no avail.

Don't remember it being an issue before MBAM 1.60.1.1000. It has been an issue, whatever the AV I happened to have

installed (Panda, Avast, ClamAV). Currently, I'm using MBAM with ClamWin on XP-sp3. Any help sorting this out will be

appreciated.
