I used Malwarebytes (MWB) a few hours ago due to my computer being infected with Win 7 Security 2012 virus.

After scanning the computer, it required a reboot of my PC. Now, everytime the computer boots, after the windows load screen (and before the welcome screen) I get a very quick blue-screen flash of an error. I can't make out what this error is.

Unfortunately, my computer does not have a restore point, so I have no where to restore to (it is enabled, but I don't know why I don't have one).

Here are the options I tried:

- try to restore to a previous point.

- use the chkdsk and bootrec bootfix and all those commands in the command area. Nothing seems out of place, and doesn't work after restarting.

Do I have a bad master boot record? How come Malwarebytes did this to my computer? Did it delete necessary files for windows to boot properly?

Been going at this for 5 hours now... no hope.

Someone, please, I need your help. I have a lot of important files =\.

Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes.

Please reboot to Safe Mode (tap the F8 key just before Windows starts to load and select the Safe Mode option from the menu). Can you boot into Safe Mode?

These are links to Anti-virus vendors that offer free LiveCD or Rescue CD files that are used to boot from for repair of unbootable and damaged systems, rescue data, scan the system for virus infections. Burn it as an image to a disk to get a bootable CD. All (except Avira) are in the ISO Image file format. Avira uses an EXE that has built-in CD burning capability.

If you are not sure how to burn an image, please read How to write a CD/DVD image or ISO. If you need a FREE utility to burn the ISO image, download and use ImgBurn.

Let me know how it goes.
