My computer got infected and hijacked by a nasty 'Win 7 Home Security 2012' virus (had all sorts of Trojans - 8 in all). I was able to go in in safe mode, download and run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. Did a great job.

Just curious, my Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware desktop and quick-start icons now have a blue and yellow shield attached to the 'M' logo. Is it because my computer was infected? Thank you.

I have a feeling you may be talking about the shield that lets you know that you need administrator rights to run the program, but to be on the safe side, can you provide a screen shot of what the icon looks like?

The new outbreak of this 'Fake Rean' rogue also uses the Win 7 shield icon in the tray. However It may just be a harmless leftover from the infection.

It has to do with Administrative rights. I have the same thing on my Windows 7 Pro netbook. It's perfectly fine.
